A cream of players to form Tanzania’s men and women teams that will compete in Kabaddi World Cup will be unveiled tomorrow after the end of a qualifying tournament.
Tanzanian teams will be among the national teams that have been invited to take part in Kabbadi World Cup to be held from April 2 to 15 this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Tanzania Kabaddi Sports Association (TKSA) Secretary, Ashura Mkungu said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that 12 men and women’s team members will be unveiled after the Sunday qualifying event to be held at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) in the city.
Mkungu said that the day-long tournament will involve Dar es Salaam-based teams and those from Rufiji and Bagamoyo in Coast Region. “All preparations are complete ahead of the Sunday event. It is a vital event since it will enable the coaches to select players who will form the national teams,” she said.
Mkungu added that the selection committee will be led by Indian School’s instructor Abhay Raj Singh assisted by officials from TKSA.
“We are expecting everything to go well and selected players will enter the camp as soon as possible,” said Mkungu.
