The government has adviced that Moshi Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (MUWSA) should manage and run two community-owned water projects worth TZS 960 million for proper and sustainable supervision.

Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Engineer Emmanuel Kalobelo (pictured) gave the suggestion when inspecting community water projects in Mweka-Sungu and Mamba South in Moshi Rural District.

“These projects have been visualized by the members of the community but implemented very well by the government through MUWSA. It would be better than to give MUWSA the chance to manage these projects,” Eng. Kalobelo said.

He said the decision to give MUWSA the chance to manage the projects would make the projects more successful, which he observed would be for the good of the community and MUWSA itself.

“I have inspected all the projects and found out that MUWSA implemented the projects very well. It is high time now they were provided the chance to manage them and make them more successful,” he said.
