Deputy Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled, Mr. Anthony Mavunde has donated building materials worth 66m/- to 32 wards in Dodoma City.
Speaking here over the weekend shortly after handing over the building materials, Mr. Mavunde who is also Dodoma Urban MP said the building materials, including 32,000 blocks and 2,560 bags of cement will be used for the construction of schools infrastructure.
“This is to fulfill my promise to improve studying environment of primary schools in Dodoma Urban Constituency,” said the Deputy Minister.
He said the construction projects will help to address the shortage of classrooms in the Dodoma Urban based primary schools, pointing out that the area has a shortage of 1,035 classrooms.
Mr. Mavunde urged local government leaders to supervise the construction projects and that the projects should commence immediately. Kizota Ward Councillor Jamali Yaledi (Chadema) pledged maximum cooperation to the legislator in addressing challenges facing the constituency.
